Welcome to our Centre
At Seashells Early Childhood Centre, we provide a ‘home away from home’, nurturing and cosy environment, where your child receives meaningful care, as well as personalised learning and development. We are open 8.00am-4.30pm, Monday – Friday, with spacious indoor and outdoor play areas and wonderful indoor/outdoor flow. Nestled in behind the shops, in the stunning Northland beachside town of Coopers Beach; Seashells offer excellent care & education for local families in the community.
- Being just a short walk to the beach, we regularly go on beach walks to explore the environment and take back resources to use in the centre
- We often go out into the community for walks and regular excursions
- We pride ourselves on promoting strong relationships with whānau that build a sense of whanaungatanga
- We see children as independent learners who are confident and competent and we strive to encourage social competence within children and promote tuakana/teina relationships
- We hold strong our values of Manaakitanga (care, love and nurture), Maia (confidence and competence), Arahina (leadership), Hiringa (determination and perserverance) and Whanaungatanga (relationships)
Your child will love our separate Nursery & Toddler and Preschool areas, all well laid out for fun and learning at every age and stage, including family play, art area, as well as quiet space for reading and reflection. There’s also plenty of natural resources with space to explore.
We are fortunate to have our very own centre cook 5 days a week who prepares nutritious & delicious meals for all of our enrolled children within the centre; morning-tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late snack.
At Seashells, our experienced teachers are warm, welcoming and fun. They guide our tamariki to engage in challenging experiences and treat all children with respect, providing equal opportunities to ensure your child gets the best start in life.
Parents love the rich sense of community that we instill within the centre, and our curriculum at Seashells reflects our philosophy for strong relationships. We values input from parents, teachers, whānau, children and our wonderful community.
